Tongue & Groove

Tongue & GrooveNow into its’ 13th year at Hotel Café in Hollywood, Tongue and Groove is a monthly literary variety show, produced and hosted by Conrad Romo. It has featured nearly 400 writers over the past 10 years and has been praised by Sunset Magazine, the Los Angeles Times,  Poets & Writers  as well as Ploughshares and Time Out as one of L.A.’s Best Reading Series. Some of  those who have graced the stage include, Jose Montoya, Dagoberto Gilb, Janet Fitch, Luis Rodriguez, Dan Fante, Matthew Specktor Jerry Stahl,  Kathy Bates, Harry Dean Stanton, Derrick Brown, Roger Guenveur Smith, Wanda Coleman, Aimee Bender, Andrea Gibson, Mayda Del Valle, Stephen Elliott, Marisa Silver, Taylor Negron, Luis Alfaro, Shihan, Jack Grapes and Maile Meloy.

The spirit of Tongue and Groove is the fostering of community and the potential for discovery through the shared listening experience of short stories, poetry, personal essays, story telling and spoken word and music.
